Dear Members and Friends of ATD-LI,
I am honored to be moving into the office of President for the 2021-2022 year. It is a huge privilege and responsibility.
Before going further, I want to extend the most heartfelt gratitude to our 2020 - 2021 President, Stephanie Burke, for her hard work this past year. As Board President, she has led and mentored us and made sure we met our ATD Long Island membership needs during this challenging time. We could not have done any of it without her. I also want to thank the 2020–2021 board. This group of individuals has worked with their teams to ensure we filled programming needs during –the past year.
I believe we hold the future of work in the Long Island area in our hands, and it is up to us to ensure that individuals have the skills necessary to do that work. We do that by providing that programs match what our community (you) tells us they need through surveys, open board meetings, and programming feedback.
I encourage every one of you to continue to feel free to reach out to me or any ATD Long Island Board member with your questions or suggestions. I would also like to encourage you to spread the word about ATD - LI membership value in providing unique program content, CPT and SHRM professional development credit, networking opportunities, and of course, ATD resources.
Thank you for your continued support, and I look forward to serving all of you during 2021 - 2022.
Gary O’Connor, BCC, SPHR, SHRM-SCP
