 As companies and organizations continue to expand and grow across national boundaries the need for organizations to be sensitive to diversity of employees, customers, and management has arrived at the forefront of business. As talent management, training, and L&D professionals. The panelists in this session will each speak about their experiences in helping organizations design and implement diversity and inclusion initiatives. We expect an interactive and fun panel about a topic that is growing more important with each passing day!

Lois Cooper


Lois Cooper is an Author, Associate Certified Coach, Motivational Speaker and Diversity & Inclusion Consultant and Trainer.  She also provides career coaching and career transition services through Lee Hecht Harrison. She was recently awarded a Diversity in Business award in April 2017 by the Long Island Business News. She has 25 years of human resources experience in organizations across a variety of industries including 16 years at Adecco Group North America, the world’s largest temporary staffing firm and the parent company of Lee Hecht Harrison. In her career, Lois developed expertise in a number of areas, including employee relations, change management, conflict resolution, performance management, organizational design and development, supplier and workforce diversity and corporate social responsibility. In March 2015, Lois was recognized for her Remarkable Dedication and Commitment to Farmingdale State College’s STEM Diversity Program. In 2014, Lois was named as a Top Executive by Uptown Professional Magazine, a Top Influential Female in Corporate America by Savoy Magazine and a Top Diverse Leader in STEM by STEM Connector. Lois is a featured speaker for The Conference Board, Disability Matters US and EU, the National Urban League, the Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM) and other thought leadership summits. Lois is also the current Board Chair for the Urban League of Long Island, Co-Chair of the Diversity & Inclusion Council for SHRM Long Island and is an immediate past member of the Board of the American Heart Association of Long Island. Lois received her MBA from Baruch College in New York City and her BA from American University in Washington, D.C.

Nawal Es-Sabahi, PhD.


Nawal completed her PhD in Applied Organizational Psychology from Hofstra University. She currently works for PepsiCo as an OMD manager specializing in workforce analytics.  She had previously worked as a consultant with E. Rogers and Associates and worked in the HR department at Nokia.  She has presented numerous papers at national conferences and served on panels for the Society for Industrial Organizational Psychology. She has also taught at the undergraduate and graduate level as an adjunct professor at Mercy College and Touro College. In her role at PepsiCo she uses advanced analytics to develop the company’s workforce.

Jason Guttadauria, Ph.D.


Jason completed his PhD in Applied Organizational Psychology from Hofstra University. He currently works as a Consultant with Mercer | Sirota where he specializes in employee engagement. He is responsible for leading efforts in survey development, executing and interpreting advanced statistical analyses, and developing and delivering executive presentations for clients across a wide variety of industries. His favorite part of working as an I/O practitioner is the ability to give clients a way to turn survey data into action. He uses data based insights to help clients’ make sound business decisions regarding their human capital, improving employee engagement, and leading to real business outcomes. Before joining Mercer | Sirota, he worked as a Teacher’s Assistant for The Hagedorn Little Village School, Jack Joel Center for Special Children, gaining invaluable experience working with the special needs population conducting applied behavior analysis. Throughout his research and studies, he was able to combine his passion for I/O Psychology and the special needs community, conducting research in diversity and inclusion practices, focused on employees with disabilities.

Nicholas Salter, PhD.


Nicholas Salter is an Industrial-Organizational (I-O) Psychologist and a tenured faculty member at the Ramapo College of New Jersey. He completed his PhD in I-O psychology from Bowling Green State University. As a scholar, Nicholas is interested in exploring issues of diversity and inclusion in the workplace, with an emphasis on how research initiatives can be applied and create change in employment situations.  As the primary investigator of the LGBT Workplace Experiences research lab, he leads a team who regularly conducts research and presents at national conferences, such as the Society for Industrial-Organizational Psychology and the Academy of Management.  He has been invited to speak to multiple organizations about diversity and inclusion issues, and has served on the Society for Industrial-Organizational Psychology LGBT committee as the chair of the research team.  He has been published in books such as “Sexual Orientation and Transgender Issues in Organizations: Global Perspectives on LGBT Workforce Diversity” as well as multiple scholarly journals.
