Learning content development that requires minimal graphic, media, and developer support. Focus on CA Education approach to enabling large scale content development that is efficient, consistent and engaging.  We will start with an overview which will provide the evolution story of using external vendors to build our courseware to the pilot program to bring content development in-house.  We will describe some of the services the external vendors provided and show how we were able to bring that skill internally.  With regards to self-service, we will describe our templates, guidelines and tools that have been put in place to aid more self-development, which frees resources to have more time to work on increasingly complex and innovative iterations of courseware.

Information about our speaker:

Theresa Kemper currently works for CA Technologies in the Education department as a Director, Instructional Design.  Her team builds technical training content for the top key  products within the Security and Mainframe spaces.  Modalities include Instructor Led (IL), Virtual Learning (VL) and Web-Based Training (WBT) for Employees, Partners and Customers.

Theresa has a team of Lead Instructional Designers who are technical and can not only drive the design of the courseware, but who can also build much of the content and thus reducing the need for resources external to the Education department.  Also on her team is a Senior Education Consultant who is charged with building early versions of courseware which is used to train internal teams such as Support so customer will receive appropriate assistance should they need help on newly released or upgraded products.

Her team is focused on creating high quality training content, for key products, within the timelines that will support the best adoption of the content, internally and externally.  This team is focused on creating content internally, with little to no reliance on external vendor support which is the model used outside of the Security space.  This model has save the company money and is being looked at for scalability to other spaces.
