The Truth About Training Evaluation

Reaction. Learning. Behavior. Results.

For decades training professionals have been looking at some interpretation of Kirkpatrick’s Four Levels of Evaluation as a model to demonstrate the value of our efforts. Training departments around the world have followed the model and used it as a means of justifying and publicizing the benefit training has on an organization.

Is this the best lens through which to examine our work? Are these metrics really the best way we have to measure our work? Are there technologies that exist today that may redefine some of the assumptions we have made for decades about training evaluation?

Join us as we explore the answers to these questions.  We will discuss the history of evaluation, and compare that to what we know about learning and performance today. We’ll explore what works, what can (and should) be looked at differently, and consider a new definition for ‘value’ as applied to our work.
